Just remove the retaining nut, lift >the wiper arm up from the axle, slowly rotate it to change the sweep area (and >park position), push arm back on to axle and tighten nut. You will notice that >the axle and wiper arm are splined, that is, the axle has a star pattern on its >circumference while the arm has an inverse star on the inside to fit the axle. Starting in 71, the arms attach to the shaft via a tapered spline. Originally, only the shaft has spline-like knurling on it, but once tightened in place these make an impression in the softer metal of the arm. This makes the adjustment "notchy", but it is possible to force the adjustment into the "middle" of a notch. The Bentley manual has details on the positioning of the parking area for different years.
