Toby, I must disagree..
Without an oil filter (I know this doesn't include you) the superior
detergent qualities of the Synthetic and loosten and suspend some sludge left behind from the detergent oils and with nothing to filter it out it just runs thru the bearings continually.
The Amsoil rep I talked with said this was the most likely scenerio of
the quick demise of my last engine and DIDNT reccomend the synthetic without
the filter.
Even a good brand detergent oil will leave some sludge and if the engine is
neglected alot of it.
