You need to hold the switch (inside the dash) stationary while you
unscrew first the knob and then the "escutcheon" which is the
aluminum ring which remains after the knob is unscrewed and removed.
The eschtcheon has two notches that require a special tool to remove.
Snap-On and MAC have this tool, or you can improvise after you
unscrew the knob and see what it looks like.
