Washing the Squareback could be done in half the time it takes because of all the neighbour's and other people asking about it. Although my former black '68 sunroof beetle was very pretty, the amount of attention wasn't anything like the Variant's attraction. (#1: type 3) After the four years i drive it, i'm used to all the turning heads. In fact when i sometimes drive another, modern car i'm a bit confused at first because the car isn't getting the amount of attention i'm used to. Normally, on the highway people tend to look at the front of the car after passing by to try to recognize it. In vain often i guess. And yes, on the parkinglot of the supermarket a woman said to me that this was the nicest car she'd ever seen. I was stunned. (#2: the car) Now my '67 has competition with a '73 SB close by. Totally there are 2 beetles, 2 squarebacks, a buggy, a Karmann Gia (t14) and a Type 2 parked in my street with a length of about 100 meters. I guess i live in a fine neighbourhood.
