hello everyone how is the xmas shopping going. i have been having this annoying problem with my '63 notch lately and having not resolved it,i come for advice. when i start the car there seems to be a grumbling noise from the back .i know my clutch is very worn and will need replacement soon.the funny thing is that the noise(more of a vibration really) is still there when i depress the clutch. on the motorway(aka freeway),this vibration and noise is still there and i can also hear a gentle thump, thump, thump.the engine is a 1600cc dual port and the trans is out of a 1303 as well.my car has been converted to irs. there seems to be no loss of engine power,in fact i am surprised at how well this car goes compared to my friends' fastback with a similar motor of similar mileage. further info; motor reconditioned 18mths ago 2 weeks ago i noticed the clutch pedal had moved towards the floor a bit(it now engages up further) the car is well tuned the vibrations occur even while the car is stationary. has anyone come across this before?is this due to the clutch needing replacement? cheers vern '63 notch (old grump at the moment) ps.i am going to check all the engine mounts after i send this.
