Re: injector connector

Greg:
You can still get the contacts for both the control unit end and the
sensor/injector ends from you local Beck/Arnley distributor. I posted
this before, but for everyone having similar problems here are the
numbers:

Beck-Arnley #
158-0005 Sensor/injector Contacts
158-0006 Control unit contacts

I use a small jeweler's screwdriver blade to get the contacts out,
Beck-Arnley also catalogs a tool which is like a ground-down hacksaw
blade for extracting the terminals. A crimping tool for these small
contacts is available at Radio-Shack, don't try using a standard
automotive one or pliers, they'll just mash them and they cost too
much for that! My plans are still to get my harness redone before
snow flies, I'll have to get some teflon-insulated wire ordered to do
that. Beck-Arnley also catalogs the nylon connector shells, too.
I've been making do with ones snipped form already butchered harnesses
I didn't order these through a VW place, got them through the local
Champion auto parts chain store. Before I found the real thing, I was
using standard .156" quick-connects for repair of the injector/sensor
contacts. It works, but they don't have a tab for retension in the
shells. Hope this info helps.
