i think this "goggle car" your talking about could possibly be a CITREON 2CV.. its shaped similar to a bug, its extremely ugly and has also been referred to as the "susprisingly seccessful snail car"... i hope this is the car you think it may be, if so you could search the net for some pics and tell me if it is what you think...
