So far this sounds good. You can check the resistance to ground from
the pump connection on the realy with the key off. It should be
quite low.
I have seen pumps that suffered from water in the gas tank due to a
cracked overflow hose at the filler neck. If the pump won't start,
try energizing it with a clip lead and then tapping it GENTLY with a
hammer. Sometimes this loosens something up inside and it will run
again.
