Another question.  

I have a new ignition switch, the red/black wire that runs to the
solonoid is half the size of the original.  Will this cause a problem? 
None of the new switches available are of the original size wire.  Is
this the wire that causes our bug and bus friend's problems in their
starter circuit.  The new switch's redblack wire will connect to the
original size wire and connector just past the steering column(about 16
inch length).
