Nope, the Bug's won't work. I got both of my anti-sways from JC Whitney. They installed without a problem (drilling is required for the front one) and work GREAT! Their diameter is 19mm (this is good, thicker is stiffer so these outperform the stock stabilizer). I understand there is an Empi-style for the front that is like the Bugs in that it is held on by steel bands. I have no experience with this style. Get a front bar first if you're only going to get one as this is where you will gain the most benefit. Be sure to use ramps to raise the vehicle when you perform the installation, don't jack the car up! The ramps allow you to get under the vehicle without changing the suspension plane like jacking the car would (duuuh, but I had to explain why to use ramps instead of a jack or lift). Can I use a balljoint front-end bug sway bar on a Type 3 or is there a special one for Type 3 front-end? Thanks! --- John T.
