The VW mags have covered this question quite a few times. You should
have bronze guides and hard seats and are not in any danger of burning
valves.
As far as Leaded being illegal for 10 years I would have to disagree. I
haven't even been driving for that long and up until about four years
ago it was for sale in Colorado. It was getting hard to find but you
could find it.

Leaded gas is illegal ANYWHERE in the us and has been for almost 10 years!
so he's mistaken and has been driving unleaded right along and so can you.
a 70 T3 was designed for the unleaded.`
I have some front fenders avail and if you can come to Albany NY to get them
