Oops, should've qualified that!  I meant the item used on the brake 
calipers, sorry.  I am very aware of the function of the engine tin.

Is that the plate under each pair of barrels? If it is ,it is an air
deflector,is very important,because it guides the air under the barrels for
even and thorough cooling(to stop rattles bend them a bit before
installation!).If left out the motor gets hot (spelt m-o-n-e-y in the end
),get my drift?
