Well...  theres nothing unusual in the piston bore but I think the "stuff"
inside the piston was originally inteded to use a guide pin which was in the 
middle of the piston bore to guide the piston and keep it straight.
     I've never seen the pin actually in the caliper but there is evidence
that the mold once had one.  Maybe this would have kept them from seizing
up??  Probably not!
