>From: JonesVWs@aol.com VERY nice list of type IV / 914 differences. You've obviously put a lot of attention into your hobby(?) I can add one more difference: Gary Berg once told me over the phone that the hubs of the 914 and t4 engine cooling fans were made from different materials. The 914 is steel while the t4 is a casting! I think I have also heard that there is a difference in the materials of the flywheels and that they and even the other almost identical parts in the engine were better balanced in the 914.
