I've bought front fenders out of yards with 2 kinds of welting. One, that seemed to be more molded, that looked better, I'm guessing that this was the original type, and one that was more like a round bead type welting commonly found on Beetles. Both of these did have one thing in common though, they were pre-made for Type 3 fender dimensions. THEY WERE NOT OF THE BENDABLE TYPE BEAD WELDING THAT IS USED FOR A BEETLE, that often just comes in a roll. Hey guys, does Bill and Steve's carry the original type stuff? I have never used Beetle type welting, I suspect it might work, but I don't think it would look so hot. But the Type 3 has many more severe bends where the welting would go, so I wouldn't think it would be a good proposition to use the Beetle welting. Good luck in your search, Jon '71 Square '72 Fast
