Well, as many people were lamenting ("it's a just > how VW's work"), the new master cylinder didn't fix my problem. H-E-L-P > M-E !!!! >>familiar story deleted<< Mmmm..... I've had this troulbe so many times! Well, after i replaced teh front beam on my bus, i was stuck, much as you are, with brakes that just didnt... AFter much discusion about it on the t-2 list, i was finially given a few pieces of advice... here is what to do/try... adjust all of your brakes OUT all the way to the drums...(ie, all 4 wheels locked...) now bleed your brakes...never letting the reservior get less than half empty(full?:) when your done bleeding, you should have pretty good pressure...if not, bleed your MC... (what you say?!:) similar to bleeding you wheel cyl's, you pump the pedal, and just barely crack open the lines for each side of the MC...enough to let air and a little fluid out under pressure...its not quite as easy as bleeding with a bleeder valve, but it can be done... also, is teh car LEVEL when bleeding? a unlevel car can cause air to get trapped... after getting a nice firm pedal, readjust your brakes to normal specs... then adjust your e-brake... and you should have good brakes again... any more questions and i'll try to come up w/ answers..... ...david... -- Mo.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.o.oM Keeper Of The Light: Pushing Back The Darkness at http://www.armory.com/~y21cvb/west/darkness.html The Turning 40 Nostalgic VW Service Tour, and Search for the Beginning of Wind http://www,armory.com/~y21cvb/charlie/charlie.html '75 Retired Westy-Canadian Model, Cody '69 Westy, Itchigo xi8940@freenet.tlh.fl.us '71 Baja Squareback, Lady Located in Augusta, Georgia '69 Lifted-n-Rusted Beetle, Unnamed
