It just so happens I have a big ol' black and white advertisement in my 
office comparing the volume of a Squareback (picture shows early model 
body) to that of a Caddilac.  In a nut shell here's what it boasts:

hey all,
   i  was wondering how much room there is in the back of a sq back. that
is with the seat down so its like a bed. i'm asking because i am
perspectively looking into buying a TIII SQB this summer. the thing is
that i'm going to be getting it through a family member. and i was
wondering how roomy it is inside as well as would i be able to sleep in it
if i went to the beach camping. also i was wondering what year the auto
trans came out in TIII SQB. i really don't want a AT. i like the freedom
of a clutch. thanks all.
