If you want your ride to be a daily driver then you are going to have trouble keeping everything in top condition. Ultraviolet rays from the sun, air pollution and the oils found in human skin (like from your hands) will damage everything in the car over time. The best thing would be to keep the car garaged and if you have to drive it then wear driving gloves (passengers included). And never drive it in the rain and if you live out East never, ever drive it on salted roads. I'm sure there are other things that are damaging (Theo?) but being paranoid makes for a less than comfortable ride. The best thing to do is follow the advice of the others who have time-tested solutions and to buy products that protect the specific material.
