VW shows a limited slip diff in their microfilm, but I've never heard of or
seen one. It is possible that it was made for the "Thing." This should
just "drop in" as long as you've got the jigs necessary to set up the
clearances properly.
Better yet, leave it factory adjusted in it's original box, and just change
the parts that your Type III requires.
