The beetle tow bar you refer to is the super beetle tow bar.  I know
that you can make an adaptor for this, but I want one that I don't have
to alter the car, or bolt an unsightly (and unoriginal) plate to my
otherwise original car.

Secondly, If I find a T-3 to tow home I will have to make the same
alteration to a car "in the field" which may not be convenient or
possible (no power for powertools or just rusty).

What I want is a bar that works like the early/non-super beetle tow
bar.  I want to clip on and go.
