The OEM cap is also a non-vented cap (that's what "ohne luftung" means) so
the old cap had probably been leaking at the seal since you said it was in
sad shape.
The vent system that came on your car is quite adequate until one of the
steel lines fills up with rust. I recommend fixing the clogged vent system
over drilling a hole in your cap. It is all easily accessible after you
remove the trunk liner.
