Re: Type III Fuel Injection

Need more info!

Make sure all ground wires are connected and clean (this includes battery
cable and tranny/engine grounding straps). The brains are sturdy units and
it's unlikely that it's bad, especially since you know it came from a good,
working car. Once they go, they go hard! Are all your vacuum hoses new?
Are they on snug? Vacuum leaks can be a source of many problems. Are the
injectors new or at least cleaned up? Is the fuel filter new (or close to
it)?

Okay,
I have a '71 type three that I love, which is in the shop right now. I
can pretty much work on everything my self except for one thing: the
damed fuel injection. Rumor has it that when it works properly, it
works great. That's the problem, it has never run great. I had the
block completley re-built less then 3000 miles ago. The idle is very
screwy. I konw the block is good, and the brain came from a great
running car. The engine is all tuned up, my mechanic and I are stumped!
Anyone ever had this problem before? Am I missing something? Thanks
for the help.
