Re: Synthetic oils

A little motor oil question...

If using only regular oil in a stock engine, would a light oil be more
appropriate than 20-50? I've seen 30w recommended in a Muir book, but
what do you all think will protect the engine at lower temperatures in
a stock daily driver (esp. one that is primarily driven in heavy city
traffic)? Currently has Castrol 10-30. I change the oil too often to
use $ynthetics.

I suppose moving out of the city would protect the engine and car the
most : ) but that's not an option.
