The 14 VDC for your AT backup lights starts from the + terminal of your coil.
There should be a short wire running from that terminal to an inline fuse
holder and then forward over the transmission, into the car, past the
battery along the right side of the hump and up to the white plastic neutral
safety/backup light switch mounted to the right of the shift lever (under
the carpet.) The wire them doubles back (actually paired with "itself") to
the engine compartment where it splits off and ends at the front plane of
the engine. It ends in a 1/4" spade connector that plugs into a splitter
(three way joint) so that one goes in and two lead out, one to each side.
Each of these lead to the backup filament on their respective sides.

Troubleshooting requires some basic ideas about electricity. If you have
these, do it. If not, learn about it or find someone who already has.
