Hi Marty, Did you try changing to another filter? The first one COULD be defective. ( You didn't say which type you had.) Second, was the filter at the tank clogged when you removed it? The tank could be rusty or filled with crud. Solution? Take out the tank, plug up the little pipes, pour a little gas in, and shake and stir it around. Then pour it into a safe container to dispose of it. Then decide if you want to get another (Type 3's will have to find a used one), have it sand blasted, or there is a solution (name I can't remember) to pour in the tank and it coats it/seals it.
