I would not assume that a new wheel was made to the same standards. OTOH, the replacement hubcaps that I've gotten have usually been junk. I have much better luck pounding the dents out of old OE hubcaps and polishing them up. I didn't know that you could buy new wheels make to the proper type 3 standards. Beetle wheels have different offset. I have OG type 3 wheels which I have refinished. They look nearly as good as they did when they were new, and they are OG quality. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
