It's not the CV joints at risk (that's just the type of rear suspension this warning is about) - it's the gearbox input shaft that can get bent. You have the majority of the car's weight supported on the centre of the engine/transmission, with the ends of each held. It goes a bit banana-shaped and the shaft can suffer - VW factory warning.
