Would the stock FI system be agreeable with some upgrades to the mechanical parts below? I'm not talking anything crazy, just mild upgrades. For example, I may need to replace bearings inside, so while everything is open... what if I upgraded the pistons and cylinders to make it a 1641cc? or what about 1776? Could the stock FI handle an increase in CCs? 1776 will cost you 30% of engine life, especially down there in Texas where its hot. 1679 with machine-ins is as far as Id go and is Bergs recommendation. Go Bigger? Stroke it! Or... what about the inclusion of a mild cam? let's say 110? D Jet doesn't like a cam but you can usually go one up, check with Berg or the like on this, I have one in the Notch that was recommended by them for use with FI although I never switched it to FI. or a counterweighted crank? Good idea! Never go more than .010 under though. Has anyone done these types of upgrades with the stock fuel injection system with successful results? or, any comments why this can't be done?
