Re: More mirror questions ( Re: [T3] Mirrors for '72 square. )

<x-flowed>I think that tehy one that you have as #2, is the correct mirror for a '67 Karmann Ghia. I'm not 100% sure but if I'm right it would be worth some $$ to the right person.

Here's 4 different mirrors, [ 2 per photo, fronts and backs. ]

http://herbie.ddv.com/~fess/type3/issues/mirrors/mirrors.html

1. came with my '67 in the extra parts box. seems like the small oval mirrors but is larger.

2. purchased as a "type III all years" mirror over the web for my '72, doesn't
seem right for my '72. Now I some that are a similar shape but better quality
on my '67 which I think are flat 4.

3. the mirror that came with my '72. [ looks kind of like the bug mirror. ]

4. a late model after market bug mirror purchased from CIP1.

So, I'm still wondering:

what did the correct mirror for a '72 look like?
how many styles of type III mirrors were there?
was a type III mirror ever the same as the type I mirror?
