Sounds like they don't want to do the job. No need for points replacement if they're not needed and why pay for a compression check if you don't want one? My advice: Buy a creeper! A floor jack (and jack stands) and a creeper are two items that, when I bought them and used them the first time, made me wish I had bought them sooner. They really are worthy devices. The creeper will keep your body (and clothes) cleaner, make under-car maneuverability easier, and will keep your body off the frigid/sweltering ground. Really does make the job better!
