They are STILL having problems like this? Remember the 231 GM V6 that would burn rod bearings if you weren't religious about 3Kmi oil changes? I called it the "Sludgebuster Six" The 3rd gen RX7 specialists say 2K mi oil changes are crucial for engine life on those cars as the turbo's run so hot. I would have thought by now that modern engineering would have solved the heat problems but....
