I didn't have any assy, I think I have what Hal mentioned, maybe the assy didn't come out till 66. Everything is greased up real good and I don't think there will be salty feet in THIS car ever again! Keith welded > to the floor. Did it come this way or did someone butcher it? Sounds like it's been "fixed." Early cars had a separate folded sheet steel frame for the accel pedal only, which bolted under the same bolts that hold the main alum casting (that holds the bearing for the clutch and brake pedal) in place. That frame was a real pain to hold in alignment at the same time that you also had to hold the casting and the clutch and brake pedals. I know that '66 has the 2-part assy, but by '68 it was one piece. I'd say that the late pedal assy would be a nice upgrade for an early car, but you still have to worry about that hinge pin which corrodes to the frame. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
