The one I use is actually quite affordable. It cost me under $100 with
all the various adapters I need.

http://www.motiveproducts.com/

I have an 1100 (70's and up Euro), 1101 (universal for screw-on cap),
and 1104 (air cooled VW) adapter.

I bought kit 0251 and adapter 1104 to get me everything I needed. From
the Motive store thats under $100, and I can do just about any modern
car, or air cooled VW. If you shop around, you can get it even cheaper.
If you want to do just air cooled VWs, the kit (0104) is $49.95.

There's two ways you can use this device (and I use it in both ways)

You can use it to just pressurize the system, and fill the MC reservoir
beforehand. I use this method usually for applying DoT-5. The risk is
that you empty out your MC reservoir when you're not looking and add air
into the system.

or

You can fill the pressure tank with your favorite DoT-3/4/5.1 fluid,
pressurize and use this to bleed out the system. The only risk in adding
air is if you empty out the tank.

The tank pressurizes like a garden sprayer. It has a gauge so you know
not to overdo it. I don't go much beyond 15 PSI to do a bleed.

Now, mind you, when you do the bleed, it won't shoot out the fluid from
the bleeder screws. It will still trickle- it takes me about 5 minutes
to get 250ml of fluid.

When done, I rinse it out with water, and then denatured alcohol, and
then dry with compressed air (and then leave it someplace warm to
evaporate anything that's left)

I don't use the DoT-5 in the pressure tank because I wouldn't know what
to use as a solvent to clean it, and don't want to risk contaminating
the DoT-3/4 I need to use in my other cars.

This does make bleeding truly a one-person operation.
