I concur- OEM has always been Original Equipment ManufacturER in my
book, going back to my auto parts days. OE is just Original Equipment-
what came with the car, what you likely would pick up at the dealership.
All OE is OEM, but not all OEM is OE. Make sense?

To me, Bosch, ATe, Girling, Mann, Continental, SKF, Bilstein are all
examples of OEMs (note the plural) for parts for the Type 3 (and for VW
to this very day), and in many cases are OE.
