I'd be tempted to do it for bumpers - heavier I imagine than rockers though.
Not sure how you get around the problem of arriving at the airport to be told
they will surcharge them a lot.
There was a rear bumper for mine in Madison WI - supplied with the black sticky
tape in place where the rubber strip would be fitted in USA, NOS but it wasn't
perfect and was quite a bit of money anyway ($100?) so I didn't bother.  A good
front one might have been irresistable though.
