If everything is good, 1 maybe 2 tries should have it back to pressure.
What triggers the pump to run continuos is the trigger points thru the
ECU.

When working on your car, you can ground the connector that goes from
the FI harness, into the main harness, near where the automatic dipstick
would be if you had one. #20 in this diagram.

Someplace, I have a picture of that connector in one from someone that
had converted to carbs.
