If you're trying to put together a seat with a perfect black base as well as e perfect spring assy, then I suppose it would be a little harder to find both parts in perfect shape and already together, but for your early style seats my experience is that the springs are almost always okay, but the base is often dented in back from being pounded loose from the rusted rails. So, in general, if you can find a seat with a good base it will come with good springs. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
