> Once warmed up, I think the FI has a slight edge, but not much. Having both FI Fastback and twin stock carb Squareback, the carbs pull well above say 2,500 rpm, while the FI pulls well at all rpm. Timing is more critical in the FI; carbs need careful balancing to produce their best, but work OK even when not very well-balanced. I adjust the carbs to about 4% CO, while the FI is about 1% CO. I have found the carbs give better mpg, but that may be because I use the better performance of the FI harder. Both of mine have the dual vac distributor, btw. As the systems are in different cars, I couldn't say how much of the difference is due to that, though. Dave.
