Flat top with sloping shoulders (could be slotted or cross-head) - just makes it
less likely to interfere with the backing plate. The original has a thin
flattened head and is spot welded, while I expect you'll have to use a blob or
two of weld. The backing plate might need a bit of reshaping in the middle to
clear the head.
I think it'll be obvious when you've removed it one way or the other.
