Steven writes a whole bunch of good points, and I generally agree
with the whole nine yards.
That said, some fifteen years ago I bought a set (front and rear) of
bolt-on EMPI-branded anti-sway bars for the '71 Squareback I had.
All of the other relevant suspension bits & wheels & tires were stock.
Boy howdy, it made that thing corner silly-fun. Not good for
comfort, probably increases stress and wear on other parts, and far
from necessary.
But, wow, silly-fun. (Not nearly as silly as the DDB Bucket,
though.) I can't bring myself to install them on the '69 Squareback,
as it is the family car. Maybe some day I'll put them into service
again... you only live once, after all.
