Here are some things to check: Lug nuts loose? CV joint bolts loose? CV joint wearing out (torn boot?) Brake drum rusted where the shoe sat all winter? (Noise changes when you apply the brakes.) Differential worn out? Final drive fluid low? This is separate from the ATF; you have to check it from below. This would be a really bad thing to go wrong. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
