The strainer was pretty much OPAQUE with rust, varnish, varnished rust and rusted varnish. :) I used the Marine Clean solution to clean the strainer, fuel gauge sender, and whatever you call the supply port tube/nut thing. on that note... is the fuel damper really just an empty chewing tobacco can with two fuel ports on it? or is mine eroded and now empty? I cleaned it in the Marine Clean and I couldn't see anything inside but the outside skin... as far as I could tell. Next step is to get more fuel line and also change out that steering damper (might as well since I've got everything so easy-access right now.)
