I'm afraid you're right, but I'm always afraid I'll throw away the part I need next week. In 35 years I've needed exactly one IAD. That was an MT '71 where the throttle shaft had come loose from its actuating arm. It was easier to replace it than to try to fix it. > But then I said that to someone who brought two pairs of the heating silencers > (plastic wrinkled things from under the rear seat) to sell at the VW show, and > expected him to take the lot home again, but someone bought one of the pairs as > a welder had used less care than the job deserved and had melted his. I've actually sold several of those. They tend to get left out when someone cleans out under the back seat or replaces the VR. I'm always amazed at the parts people will just leave out when they think they are done with a job. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
