Congratulations. Any my hat's off to Chris, too, for being detail 
oriented enough to follow this thru. I suspect you'll find the cause 
of your differing parking light. Keep in mind that if this is a '65, 
then, if I've followed this thread well enough, it may well be a 
european version, for which both parking lights should stay ON with 
the headlights. IOW, the light that now goes out may be the faulty 
one, not the other way around.

Don't worry, I haven't touched it, and now I think I know what year 
it is from, which is good. I may still have to take it apart, because 
there appears to be at least one bad connection in it.
