I just checked, and the knob threads are the same, so it looks like 
you could use the late switch in your 65. The one problem that I see 
is that the late switch only has 7 terminals, which seem to be quite 
different (30, 30, 56, 57, 58, 58b, X) compared to the old one here 
(30, 30, 30, 56, 57, 57, 58, 58b.) 

The lower resistance just means that you won't be able to dim your 
dash lights as far.
