This may sound really stupid, but I had a slightly jerky issue with mine and damn near tore the motor apart and tuned, tested, replaced and recalibrated everything. just to find out that the right rear brake shoes were out of adjustment, but only slightly. One of the shoes was too close to the drum and was grabbing a tiny bit. Not enough to stop the car or make any noise. Just enough to produce a little hesitation in 1st and 2nd. I felt like a moron when I discovered it. I'm not saying the brakes are your problem, but it may be somthing weird like that. --- Keith Park <topnotch@nycap.rr.com> wrote: > Stock carbs? > Stock engine? > > Get the right main jet in it and timing to stock > spec the go from there. > acceleration issues Id mess with the pump stroke > first, with dual carbs they > have to be equil and I found with my carbs that one > pump had no stroke after > rebuilding and I had to shim it. > > Keith > > > > Hmm, 2 responses only, one suggesting my timing is > too advanced > > (retarding it really screws it up, so it's not > that) and the the > > other suggesting reducing the accelerator pump > stroke, (which > > may have helped).
