Okay, I know the part you're talking about now, but that clamp doesn't seal gasoline anywhere. The steel filler tube runs THRU that large grommet and into the trunk, all in one piece with no breaks. That clamp just keeps water out of the trunk. If you had gas coming out under that seal, then either your trunk is full of gas, because of a leak elsewhere, or your filler tube has rusted thru somewhere under that grommet. I've never seen or heard of rustthru there, but I suppose it's possible. Either way, I'd suggest a bit more investigation to see what the exact problem really is. I probably have a good used filler tube if you need one. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
