I'm not sure how fast the water cools down (and > thus what the exact temp the gauge is at) but it couldn't be ten degrees (?). ;-) 10 degrees is probably not far off. To do this right you would need to find a hot plate that you could take out to the garage so the water would actually be boiling while you read the gauge. You could even start with hot water in a tin can, and keep it boiling with a propane torch while you read the gauge. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
