Yes...that happens...but, to this one person's
experience, it's because you touched some bad
connection somewhere and made it temporarilly ok.
  Just to eliminate stuff, I'd suggest making Double
Sure all the sensors and grounds around and on the
engine are ok. Some may SEEM ok but are loose inside
their connectors...or not tightened in
adeaquately...or have cracked, unprotected wires.  
Head sensor is particularly important...to my
experience. And, go under back seat and clean and
pretty-up and tighten all those wires...w/ battery
disconnected, of course. Shine up, snug-up, those
battery things while you're at it.

 Don't know if this applies here, but....maybe. Cannot
hurt. Eliminate the easy stuff first. This ought be
routine anyhow. Old cars are not the same as new ones
w/ fresh wires and low corrosion levels.
