In general, I find that cycling the key, like you're doing, is very effective, because the biggest problem with starting the FI cars is that there is often no fuel in there when you first turn the key. Cycling the key runs the pump thru its startup cycle each time, which fills the lines and gets the pressure up to where the FI can work. I mount a small pushbutton under the dash to do this. Just holding it in for a few seconds runs the pump and primes this system. It works really well, and installs easily without requiring any damage to the existing system. I have these switch assemblies available for sale. They work on any year type 3 FI system. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
